Job Location:

Warren, MI (on site role). Relocation assistance may be available for non-local candidates with relevant experience.


Compensation:

$180K/yr plus a 20% to 25% bonus (depending on performance).

This role is open ONLY to US Citizens as all candidates must have secret (or higher) security clearance (clearance requires US Citizenship). Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major defense contractor to hire a Director of Business Development. This role will provide significant input and direction for key strategic questions for our organization. In this role you will serve as a strategic thought leader, leading critical strategic projects, and influencing leaders around the company. This role has a meaningful impact on our organization's future performance.


Your Impact:

  • Leads critical projects and initiatives to address key strategic questions or issues for the company.
  • Develops project scope and plan for key strategic projects and initiatives, including deliverables, milestones, and timing.
  • Organize and guide a cross-functional team of leaders.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements business strategies to align with the company’s objectives to drive growth and profitability.
  • Designs and leads analysis efforts to identify simplification opportunities and quantify potential impact with support of various functions.
  • Develops recommendations and drives execution of recommendations for areas of opportunity across the business.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve results.
  • The customers you will work with will be in Combat Support and Combat Services – also Ground Combat. You will target new programs with Army Control and Automotive Tank Command and identify future opportunities within RCV, Striker MCWS, other platforms.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Development or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience OR 7+ years of related consulting experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience. In this role you will not have direct reports but will work with an integrated team from end to end.
  • Must have served previously in the US Army (ideally up to a Lt. Con/Major level).
  • Prior TACOM experience is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Military experience in Army or Defense Acquisitions
  • Military tour at TACOM
  • Experience working at the Pentagon
  • Master’s degree in the field or in a related area; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with complexity reduction concepts.
  • Thought leadership, change management, and project management experience.
  • Ability to influence change and build relationships with other business leaders.
  • Ability to conduct executive level presentations and facilitate group discussions to tackle complex problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and to impact others to move toward consensus.


Day To Day:

  • Customer interfacing, bid proposals, SWOT analysis, etc.
  • Will work with an integrated team that is already in place, including program managers and product teams


Work Environment, Other Info:

  • 1st (day) shift position.
  • This will be a 100% on site role (in Warren, MI)
  • There will be some travel in this role on occasion (10% or less). Travel costs will be reimbursed. Travel is mostly local.
