Compensation:

Compensation is negotiable depending on overall experience. There will be a base pay along with a 20% to 25% annual bonus potential (dependent on performance). Relocation assistance is provided along with work permitting. There will be a 1-month accommodation for housing and a vehicle while you get sorted. We provide a competitive benefits package which includes full health insurance and PTO (25 paid days off plus 10 public holidays and 10 sick days).

This is a direct hire opportunity, and we are looking for candidates with at least five years of US Tax experience who are willing to relocate to The Cayman Islands. Job Description:

Our Tax services group, with US tax professionals located in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, focuses on a variety of key industry groups, including offshore investment funds. A career in our US Tax Practice will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. In general:

•   As a Manager in our Cayman’s US Tax Team, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, assisting businesses, individuals and organizations with tax strategy, planning and compliance, whilst delivering a wide range of business advisory services.

•   You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners.

•   You’ll also help organizations by providing advice on tax implications of deals.

•   Our team helps our Financial Services clients navigate the frequently changing and complex international tax environment related to tax and informational filing requirements, stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions.

•   This opportunity involves combining industry insight with the technical skills of financial and tax specialists, economists, actuaries, lawyers and our other in-house experts as necessary, to develop comprehensive integrated solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•   The review of US tax returns for investments partnerships and other US tax filings

•   The review of US tax returns for insurance companies and their shareholders

•   The supervision of US tax professionals in conjunction with; Conducting US tax research and drafting tax technical research memoranda

•   The preparation of presentation materials for the marketing of US tax services

•   Meeting with existing and potential clients to discuss tax issues.

•   Proactively assisting with setting strategy, driving the development of new business, and providing technical advice across disciplines

•   Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalize on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors across multiple tax jurisdictions.

•   Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities

•   Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications and tax team operations

•   Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria

•   Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing/challenging the output produced by the team

•   Responsibility for management of engagement financials

•   Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching


Capabilities / Skills Required:

•   A minimum of 5 years US taxation work experience with an international accounting firm or similar work experience specializing in US tax issues of investment funds or international corporate structures.

•   A minimum of 5 years US taxation work experience with an international accounting firm or similar work experience specializing in US tax issues of partnerships and corporations.

•   Extensive knowledge of US tax compliance and consulting needs of various investment funds including expertise in tax compliance software.

•   Extensive technical skills relevant to the funds industry, along with thorough experience identifying and addressing client needs. This will include:

o   Developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities

o   Preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection.

o   Thorough experience as a team leader; leading teams to deliver, establish direction and motivate members, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff, and encouraging improvement and innovation.

•   Demonstrates a proven record of success as a tax technical team leader generating new business, proposal writing and delivery, collaborating across engagements and business units.

•   Advanced knowledge of tax compliance software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

•   Highly organized, dedicated and self-motivated

•   Excellent communications, interpersonal and time management skills

•   Ability to coach and mentor more junior team members.


Education Level:

•   A Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in accounting/taxation or a law degree from an accredited university

•   Qualification as a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or IRS Enrolled Agent.


Work Environment:

•   This role will be a standard 1st (day) shift position.

•   Role will be 100% on site at our office in The Cayman Islands (located at a facility in Camana Bay – near George Town).
