Electrical Design Specialist


Location: Openings in both Sterling Heights, MI & Minneapolis, MN

Schedule: 100% Onsite | 1st Shift - 9x80 Schedule - Enjoy every other Friday off!

Contract Duration: 6 months with potential extensions or direct hire opportunities

Compensation: Competitive at $47.30/hour with optional benefits

Onboarding Requirements: Background check, drug screen, employment verification


Position Description:

Join our dynamic team as an EE Design Specialist II, contributing your expertise to the design and drafting of both electrical and mechanical aspects of electrical/electronic equipment. Your responsibilities will include designing wiring harness routing integration using schematic diagrams provided by electrical engineering, as well as overall line replaceable unit (LRU) chassis and housing design/drafting. Additionally, you will produce CAD models and drawings of electrical harness assemblies and electro-mechanical components. Proficiency in working within data management systems is essential for this role.


Skills Required:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience with electrical/electronic systems.
  • CAD Proficiency: Sound understanding of Creo CAD modeling, design, and drafting techniques (minimum 2 years).
  • Wiring Harness Expertise: Experience with design, routing, and drawings of wiring harness assemblies.
  • Software Competence: Proficiency in model and drawing generation utilizing Creo and Creo Pro-Cable.
  • Standards Knowledge: Understanding of AMSE Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to thrive in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, demonstrating highly cooperative teamwork skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.


Experience Required: 2 years of Creo Design


Education Required:

  • Associate Degree in a relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • OR relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus an additional 2 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering and electro-mechanical engineering tools is highly desired.
