HRU Technical Resources is seeking a Wire Harness Designer to assist in the drafting & designing of harnesses & cables located in Sterling Heights, MI.


Type of Role: 6 Month Contract (Extension OR direct hire possibility)


Schedule: ON SITE 1st Shift


Compensation: $37.90/HR

Description: Join our team as an Wire Harness Designer, and immerse yourself in the dynamic world of combat defense design and development. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our seasoned electrical engineering staff, contributing to the creation and enhancement of cutting-edge defense systems. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around generating and refining engineering models, drawings, and specifications using PTC Creo, a leading CAD software for the design of safety harnesses and cable wires. You will play a leading role in ensuring that our products are safely manufactured and designed.


Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work closely with electrical engineering staff or electrical designers to support one or more aspects of the Combat design/build process.

• Generate or update engineering models, drawings, specifications, or other related documentation.

• Perform design and drafting of both electrical and mechanical aspects of electrical/electronic equipment using PTC Creo.

• Create designs and drawings of electrical and electro/mechanical components, harness assemblies, and installations using PTC Creo and Creo Cabling.

• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical design teams to develop and integrate complex systems.

• Aid in the documentation of new or existing 3D models as well as loading models to the document management system using PTC Creo.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in relevant technical discipline

• 2-3 years’ experience in drafting/designing

• Experience working with electrical/electronic systems.

• Sound understanding of Creo CAD modeling, design, and drafting techniques (minimum 1 year).

• Experience with design, routing, and drawings of wiring harnesses assemblies.

• Understanding of model and drawing generation utilizing Creo and Creo Cabling.

• Understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.

• The Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment for this position requires highly cooperative team working skills, as well as very good oral and written communication skills.
