Junior Project Manager (1-5 years Experience)
Definition or Position Purpose
· The position involves being a key support resource to the Project Manager. Helping in the planning, organizing, and controlling of company physical, human and financial resources (and external resources) for a project(s) from initial phase to final completion with a fixed budget and time schedule. Reports to and is directed by the Project Manager on a given assigned project/program.
Major Functions & Duties
· Support Budget updates / Budget tracking
· Support tracking and identification of project costs & expenses
· Preparation of project plans
· Support / manage project planning, scheduling & execution of the plan throughout the life of project(s)
· Maintain open issues & action items lists as may be required
· Keep detailed meeting minutes for all project meetings as may be required
· Tracking ex-works and delivery timing of our products from our factory
· Track and Ensure on-time delivery of deliverable to customer
· Track Vendor Supplied Material and coordinate Shipping / Logistics team to ensure on-time delivery to customer
Principal Accountabilities
· Adherence to the safety, standards and general customer specifications
· Act a key support person for Project Manager/s on major projects within the Automotive Group
Desired Skills / Education / Experience
· Minimum of a Associates Degree, in an Engineering discipline
· 1-5 years experience in robotics and/or other closely related system integration
· Direct experience with one or more Automotive OEMs is a ‘MUST HAVE’
· Experience with Bodyshop line-builders is preferred – i.e. BiW experience
· Solid understanding of time and cost relationships within project management
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with customers, vendors and internal personnel
· Patience, tact, diplomacy and the obvious ability to successfully maneuver and ‘pilot’ the customer relationship
· Must be computer literate. A high level of expertise in Excel and PowerPoint is essential along with a well-developed knowledge and experience of regular office computer software.
