Position Overview:

This position reports to the Data Warehouse Manager and the Director of Development. As a vital member of the Data Science and Development team, the role involves modeling business problems and uncovering insights using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The primary focus is on leveraging data to support organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and model structured and semi-structured data, implementing algorithms to support analysis using statistical methods from statistics, machine learning, and data mining.
• Utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools, such as Alteryx, R, Python, Spark, and Tableau, to deliver actionable insights.
• Translate business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
• Process and clean data needed for analysis, including feature engineering.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test hypotheses, and uncover interesting trends and relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience with SQL and related data access tools.
• Experience with open-source tools for machine learning.
• Proficiency in creating rich, custom data visualizations.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively to achieve common goals, fostering cooperation and collaboration among team members.
• Minimum of a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related fields; a doctorate is preferred.
• At least two to three years of experience in technical statistics.
• Proficiency in analytics, data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, mathematical optimization, and simulation.
• Minimum required certifications: Epic Cognitive Computing, Python, and Alteryx.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism in a mission-driven environment.
