Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical Assemblies

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to support their Engineering Department, focusing on emergency pre-hospital patient handling products. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the design, manufacturing, and supply chain quality of batteries, chargers, and other electrical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with global teams, including engineering, operations, product management, service, quality, and regulatory departments
  • Ensure reliable batteries, chargers, harnesses, PCBAs, and electrical assemblies for powered products
  • Manage various aspects of product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing activities
  • Lead projects autonomously, with support from other engineers, to drive program success
  • Develop and implement battery management programs, including design, manufacture, storage, shipping, and delivery

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure reliability, quality, and supplier selection for electrical assemblies
  • Manage battery and charger programs from concept to delivery
  • Lead multiple projects, with experience in NPI a plus
  • Apply design principles related to circuit design, PCBAs, BMS, and more
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, including IEC, UL, UN, CSA, IATA, CE, and EN
  • Design and re-design products to meet FDA, ISO, and MDD compliance
  • Participate in Engineering Change Order and Phase-Gate processes
  • Maintain design drawings and models using Solidworks and/or Altium
  • Review product verification and validation test plans and results
  • Lead communication on assigned programs and provide issue escalation support
  • Develop solutions to improve product quality and reduce costs

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Lead QMS compliance activities for multiple sites
  • Conduct internal and vendor audits
  • Produce QMS procedures and work instructions
  • Assist in diagnosing field issues and developing corrective actions
  • Manage supplier rejections, SCARs, returns, and re-orders
  • Perform FAI/Sample Approvals and assist with BOM management and inventory

Education and/or Experience

o  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)

o  Degrees in other disciplines will be considered depending on experience

o  Previous Quality and/or Process Engineering roles will be considered

o  Graduate degree preferred

o  8-10 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
