Product Engineer

Job Purpose:

The role of the Product Engineer is to design, prototype and test new product offerings and sustain current products. The successful candidate is responsible for developing new product specifications and project plans, designing, prototyping, and testing machines, and supporting the industrialization of the final product design. This role requires a hands-on engineering approach working with a small team of engineers, designers, build technicians, and suppliers.

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited university
• 5+ years of ME design experience in structures, power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, IC engines, and systems integration
• Experience in automotive, agricultural, or mobile equipment industries desired
• Strong analytical, hands-on mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred), PDM/PLM systems (Autodesk Vault preferred), and MS Office
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5, fabrication shop equipment, and ERP systems

Essential Duties:

• Execute engineering projects using sound principles and company standards
• Perform trade studies, calculations, and design reviews
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and costs
• Provide technical direction and support to designers, build technicians, and suppliers
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and Bills of Materials
• Initiate and process Engineering Change Orders
• Provide technical support for customer service, field techs, and manufacturing operations.
