Hawthorne Recruitment is excited to partner with Natural Forces Services Inc., a leading Canadian clean energy developer that delivers projects in partnership with Indigenous Communities and Nations, Community Economic Development Corporations (CEDCs), municipalities, and other local communities across Canada, Ireland, and France. As an asset owner, Natural Forces retains ownership of its projects long-term, with a passion for building relationships that harness renewable energy resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way. On their behalf, we are recruiting a Project Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Canada, ensuring project success through various phases from inception to operations. This position involves coordinating project schedules, budgets, and contracts, fostering relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, and overseeing compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager with a strong interest in renewable energy and a proven ability to build and maintain meaningful partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage development activities for new and existing renewable energy projects.
  • Oversee project schedules and budgets to ensure successful delivery from inception to operations.
  • Coordinate with team leaders and manage third-party consultants and contractor contracts.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with regulators, stakeholders, rightsholders, community members, utilities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Lead projects through development phases while managing risk and minimizing impacts.
  • Advise on the identification and feasibility of new renewable energy projects.
  • Negotiate, revise, and prepare real property contracts with individual and corporate landowners.
  • Write technical plans, reports, and presentations related to project progress.
  • Manage public, stakeholder, and rightsholder engagement and consultation processes.
  • Complete and manage interconnection applications with utility companies.
  • Lead and support team members in applying for permits and funding sources.
  • Develop and write grant applications, funding requests, and proposals for new projects.


Qualifications:


  • A post-secondary degree in engineering, planning, environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • Broad understanding of the technical aspects of renewable energy projects, including environmental permitting and interconnection procedures.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in energy project management and development.
  • An action-driven personality with a self-motivated, resourceful approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
  • Willingness to work in an office setting and travel during the work week.
