General Manager (Full-Time) – McKerrow, ON
Pay - $ 55,000/ year

We are seeking to urgently fill a General Manager for our client in the quick-service
restaurant industry, who will directly report to the District Manager. You will be the
restaurant leader and responsible for executing all Company policies, procedures,
programs and systems and building, coaching, and engaging your team to be
productivity champions. You will be joining a team that embodies people before profit.

This location, a combination of two well-known fast-food restaurants, is significantly
fast-paced. While currently, it's a bit slower, the period from May 24 to Labor Day, being
just off the highway, sees a dramatic increase in business. In addition, the store includes an Assistant Manager, a number of supervisors and crew members to handle the high volume of customers typical for this store.
Why is this role important?
As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall restaurant operations with
your District Manager's support. Ensuring excellence in building and managing a high-performing team aligned with quality, performance indicators, food safety standards, QSC standards and corporate brand and assets to maximize profit goals.
Day-to-day activities:
● Manage all day-to-day running of the restaurant, including store sales budget, food cost control, and labour analysis
● Coordinate administrative staff and their schedules, ensuring adjustments are made as needed to meet all staffing goals
● Ensure front-line staff are meeting the performance requirements and manage where necessary through coaching methods
● Maximize profit goals versus budget and prior year. Manages food, labour, paper costs and other controllable expenses
● Develop and implement appropriate plans to resolve unfavourable trends and enhance profits whereby ensuring corrective action is taken related to customer service issues or poor performance among team members
● Motivates team members for high performance, including Assistant Managers, Shift Supervisors and Crew, through ongoing systems, coaching, and overall development
● Continual improvement of restaurant metrics using materials from the Customer Experience Cycle, diagnosing service issues and executing Playbooks to resolve
● Ensure the training, monitoring and reinforcement of food safety to ensure all procedures are performed according to Company policies and health/sanitation regulations, taking corrective action as required
● Ensure full compliance with Company operating policies and procedures, working with the District Manager to establish restaurant priorities and execute
plans
Who you are:
● Minimum of 3+ years of line operations experience in the restaurant or related industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
● Experience understanding and leading a team of direct reports with a focus on coaching
● Business knowledge (P&L, budget guidelines, performance data, food safety laws, sales forecasting, and staffing management)
● Post-secondary diploma or college degree preferred
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Efficient skills in analytical thinking and problem-solving
● Flexibility in hours worked to accommodate operational needs
● Certified in First Aid, CPR and Food Safety, preferred
● Excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office
