A market leader in the building materials industry is looking for a Maintenance Technician in the GTA for their day shift and night shift. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
· Performing Hazard Assessments
· Hoisting and Rigging
· Providing maintenance support to a continuous process manufacturing plant
· Performing a range of maintenance functions from simple repairs to complex
· equipment rebuilds
· Mentoring junior technicians as they perform maintenance
· Performing root cause failure analysis
· Taking initiative to identify, maintain, and repair equipment issues
· Troubleshooting and problem solving
· Complete work in a timely manner to meet production commitments
Your work history should include experience with most, if not all of the following types of equipment:
· Pneumatics
· Conveying systems
· Air compressors
· Natural gas systems
· Hydraulics
· Automated packaging systems
· Dust collectors
· High volume fans
· Pumps
· Piping
· Rigging
· Power transmission (motors, gearboxes, etc..)
· Welding/fabricating
· Industrial controls
Requirements:
· Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright or Electrician
· 3yrs+ experience as a Maintenance Millwright or Electrician in a manufacturing or heavy
· industrial environment
· Strong working knowledge on safe work practices (such as lock-tag-try, fall protection,
· and hazard assessments)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work with minimal supervision independently or in a group
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
· Experience in the packaging industry an asset
