Purpose of the Role:

 

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding our client's business by securing new retail accounts both in-store and online. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced BDM to join a thriving and growing company in the Home, Garden, and DIY markets.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

·        Serve as the lead point of contact for all clients, building and nurturing trusted, long-lasting relationships.

·        Close deals to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs and targets.

·        Produce regular reports on the sales pipeline, key metrics, and KPIs.

·        Engage in direct selling across multiple product sets and verticals, aligning with the Enterprise Sales Manager's strategies.

·        Uphold brand values throughout the sales process.

·        Achieve weekly meeting targets with new prospects.

·        Negotiate commercial terms and multi-year agreements with customers.

·        Identify and secure new business opportunities to reach revenue goals.

·        Provide regular market information, trends, and updates on new technologies.

·        Present new product developments to key retailers.

·        Maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients through quarterly face-to-face meetings.

·        Implement best practices in pipeline management, sales forecasting, and opportunity management.

·        Collaborate cross-functionally with the buying team, graphic design, and merchandising teams to ensure clients' specific needs are met end-to-end.

·        Achieve budgeted sales and margin targets.

·        Manage day-to-day operations and coordinate with other internal functions to provide best-in-class customer service.

·        Foster strong working relationships with relevant customers to ensure the delivery of agreed business plans.

·        Deliver clear Joint Business Plans and promotional plans within agreed timeframes.

·        Perform day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure all customers have the necessary marketing and launch assets, promotional asset forms, and sufficient stocks at all times.
