About Our Next Assistant Audio Editor 


audiochuck is looking to take our audio editing team to the next level! This newly-created position is a perfect blend between editor, engineer, and machine room operator, suited for anyone who’s looking to start a career in audio and/or post-production with little to no background experience or formal education. The Assistant Audio Editor will work directly under the Director of Audio as well as the team of Audio Editors on staff, helping to bring the best possible sound to millions of podcast listeners worldwide.


What this role will bring to the table:

  • Experience in a DAW (required), Pro Tools and iZotope RX experience (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of how mics work, proper signal flow, best audio practices and concepts
  • Strong macOS skills
  • A fundamental understanding of post-production workflows, file types, etc.
  • Ability to switch tasks at a moment’s notice
  • The desire to kickstart a career in the audio industry

What You’ll Do

  • Edit short-form audio deliverables such as weekly ads, promotional works, and video mixes
  • Engineer in-office recording sessions as well as help to maintain studio spaces and equipment
  • Organize, manage, and archive large databases of FX libraries, music tracks, edit sessions, etc
  • QC all incoming and outgoing A/V assets for file integrity
  • Support during video production shoots, field-recording sessions, etc.
