Tax, Corporate and Personal, from Compliance to Planning!
We have a fantastic opportunity to join an established accounting firm just south of downtown Calgary, in the heart of Mission. We are looking for an individual with solid hands-on experience in Corporate and Personal Tax, a strong desire to develop your career from Tax Accountant to Senior Tax Accountant (still collaborating with clients), and the opportunity to grow to Tax Manager (directing staff, training, and client files). This is a terrific opportunity to demonstrate and build your technical expertise in Canadian Tax.
With an extensive list of diverse clients, including private sector businesses, professional corporations, consultants, and agriculture and oil and gas service companies, our client offers learning, stability, and longevity in the workplace.
Being a small firm, you will be “Hands-on” with client interaction, from introducing services to an overview of expectations and completing files to billing and collection. Review and oversee working paper files, including financial statements, corporate income tax, payroll deductions, GST returns, and personal tax returns, utilizing XERO, QuickBooks / Simply Accounting, Caseware, and Taxprep. You will collaborate with clients to oversee their business plans, tax planning, and overall quality of work. This office environment works closely and looks to expand team collaboration and learning.
To qualify for this position, you will have a minimum of four plus years of experience within a Public Accounting Firm, have completed the CPA or have successfully written the CFE and be interested in or have started the In-depth tax course. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be organized and able to demonstrate a solid daily work plan and be comfortable communicating with client queries.
