Senior Cost Accountant needed!

Our client is a leader in the aerospace industry. They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cost Accountant to join their growing financial team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our cost accounting systems, providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the cost accounting function, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of manufacturing costs, inventory valuations, and overhead allocations.
• Conduct in-depth cost analyses to identify cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare cost reports and presentations for management, clearly communicating complex financial data.
• Partner with engineering, production, and other departments to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, CAS).
• Utilize cost accounting software and stay current with industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior cost accounting role, preferably within the aerospace industry.
• Proven expertise in cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and activity-based costing (ABC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve cost variances.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Familiar with Gov’t accounting, FAR and CAS regulations a plus
