Job Summary
The incumbent will be an integral member of the Global Value & Access (GV&A) team of Alzheimer’s Disease Franchise (ADF), and is responsible for overseeing a broad portfolio of sophisticated health economic, policy and advanced modeling research projects in a collaborative project team structure. The incumbent will develop, direct and/or oversee the application of a variety of advanced modeling techniques to deliver high quality, impactful and successful projects that ensures optimal patient access. Act as scientific leader in the latest modelling methodology that optimizes the assessment of The company Neurology products. In addition, the incumbent will ensure quality is maintained in all aspects of technical work as well as manage performance and ensure adequate training and support of staff. Some travel may be required for project management and/or business development.
The incumbent will support GV&A strategic planning and help develop and implement research strategies and methodologies to ensure the scientific quality, timely delivery and financial performance of projects. He/she will also help operationalize key initiatives within regional and/or local affiliates, including country-level Value & Access teams, Medical Affairs, Policy, Advocacy, and other related functional teams, as well as key external HTA/payer stakeholders. The key functional activities of this position include: (a) timely implementation of the GV&A strategy and tactical plans to achieve predetermined milestones in support of product launch readiness in Alzheimer’s disease; (b) timeline mapping of payer/HTA engagement for key global markets and establish a global database to collect, validate, and coordinate stakeholders’ engagement and responses to HTA and reimbursement challenges in close collaboration with regional and local Value & Access teams; and (c) contribution in value creation and value demonstration of Alzheimer’s disease pipeline and inline assets and represents GV&A perspective into early clinical development programs and product portfolio.
The incumbent is expected to be a team player, and an advocate for quality, compliance, professionalism, and core corporate values at The company. He/she will be participating as a team member in ADF GV&A planning and operations in HTA/payer engagement, value demonstration, pricing research, evidence development, designing and implementing real-world retrospective and prospective studies, economic modeling and communications, patient assistance, dossier development and submission, HTA methodology development, collaboration with alliance partner, and potential engagements with ICER, NICE, and other HTA agencies.
Essential Functions
Strategic and tactical planning for health economics and predictive modeling initiatives within Global Value & Access
Drive alignment across complex matrix of Value & Access, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Commercial functions as well as local country affiliates to deliver an integrated global HTA/payer perspective.
Serve as the subject matter expert on HTA, health economics, and modeling at the leadership team and provide key input to Clinical Development plans for pipeline and inline assets.
Conduct systematic literature reviews, comparative effectiveness assessments, and indirect treatment comparisons to identify evidence gaps, opportunities for strategic evidence generation and areas of value differentiation.
Lead and manage the execution of advanced modelling and/or health economic projects including but not limited to: advanced models (natural history, microsimulation, Markov, compartmental, among others); applied health economic models (cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, budget-impact, burden of illness, etc.) as well as the potential for observational health economic studies (prospective or retrospective study of cost and/or outcomes).
Key project deliverables include: model/study conceptualization, development of analysis plans, programming of core economic models, model calibration, model validation, interpretation of model results and sensitivity analyses, protocol, technical report and manuscript writing.
Responsibilities include day-to-day project management, project delivery, management of project team tasks, overseeing execution, performing quality reviews, and managing client communications.
Provided strategic advice on acceptability of health economic models from the perspective of payers, policy stakeholders and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies.
Advises quality assurance and quality control procedures on own and others’ team members projects.
Partner with regional and country Market Access and Value teams in support of regional and country access needs, payer or HTA engagement, and assessment of product coverage and reimbursement gaps.
Help develop global value dossiers (GVD) and coordinate with regions and countries on local content/model adaptation.
Engage in alliance collaborative activities, communications, and budget tracking and management.
Coordinate with regional/local Value & Access teams for payer/HTA outreach and develop a stakeholder database to collect, validate, and assess stakeholder environment and Access barriers/gaps and identify opportunities to influence reimbursement decision-making and product coverage.
Partner with global internal and external stakeholders to identify needs for innovative modeling approaches.
Potentially coordinate and partner with ICER, NICE, and other HTA agencies to participate in economic and value assessments of AD DMTs, and to optimize the HTA/payer impact of product economic assessments.

Requirements
Education: MS or MBA required; PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred
Experience: 7+ years relevant access and value experiences in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry or consultancy
Knowledge Requirements:
Degree in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, economics or epidemiology.
A postgraduate degree such as Masters, MPH, or PhD in the area of Health Outcomes, Health Economics, or Health Services.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in health economics/outcomes.
Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of dementia is preferred.
Hands on experience of economic modeling, and HTA relevant statistical methodologies.
Competence in carrying out a variety of HEOR studies using a range of standard techniques including PRO validation, SLRs, ITC, and NMA.
Solid understanding of global payer markets.
Good understanding of US and key ex-US healthcare ecosystems.
Solid background in the design and conduct of HTA in and proven record of achieving local market access and favorable pricing in HTA driven markets such as UK, Sweden, Canada, or Australia.
Global or US V&A experiences is required.
Prelaunch/Launch experience is required.
Knowledge and experience of clinical development and product life cycle management.
Project and budget management experience.
Knowledge and experience of vendor management.
Broad therapeutic experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is highly desired.
