Associate Director, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Operations

Job Summary


As a member of the Company  Finance Shared Services Group; the Procurement team is responsible for supporting the enterprise’s business groups’ procurement needs. Ensuring business requirements are clearly understood and the resulting goods/services are properly purchased from suppliers providing the greatest value.



This position is responsible for supporting operational excellence and leadership for the company’s USA Procure-to-Pay (P2P) transformation in alignment with the needs of the organization. This person will collaborate seamlessly across Procurement, Site Services, Finance, EIT and the various other Business functions to deliver an effective & efficient P2P process. They will also need to coordinate with Company’s Global Procurement Council. The ideal candidate should be able to work masterfully with integration partners, drive implementation of state-of-the-art technologies, document key processes, and work instructions to ensure end-to-end capabilities to source and purchase business needs.


The End-to-End P2P process will manage approximately $2.1B+in US spend.


Responsibilities


Lead the efforts on behalf of Procurement to seamlessly transition the organization’s buying activities from its current end-of-life SAP/SRM system to a new P2P system with best-in-class processes, maximizing technologies and process improvements. Create and execute on a comprehensive implementation plan including system selection, communications, system training and monitoring of KPIs that delivers a closely integrated P2P spend management solution.


Work across business units to select and implement a Procure-to-Pay system including services, processes, work instructions policies, systems, KPIs along with a communication plan and manage an integration partner and E2E P2P system (e.g. Ariba; Coupa; GEP; Invalua; etc.) to deliver best practice technologies needed to optimize sourcing and purchasing.


Accountable for the new system complying with internal and external policies, regulations and laws throughout all Source to Pay/Procure to Pay processes and system.


 


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:


A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance or related field is required. An MBA is preferred. Pharmaceutical or Life Science Industry experience a plus.

8+ years minimum procurement experience, as well as direct experience with deployment of large-scale End-to-End P2P systems such as Ariba, Coupa, GEP…etc.


Project Management and/or a systems technology/IT background is highly desired.


Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management a plus


Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes, minimum 2 full lifecycle experience of implementing a Procure-to-Pay system (i.e Ariba; Coupa; GEP; etc.).


Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills and abilities to tactfully work across functions and at all levels of the organization to create innovative, sustainable solutions.


Proven ability to manage projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.


Ability to liaise with IT acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with primary responsibilities in support of change management and system development


Project Management Certification (preferred).


Strong understanding of strategic sourcing principles, vendor management.


Demonstrated ability to work successfully on a team as well as independently

This role requires an experienced P2P professional with strong project management experience having implemented an end-to-end Enterprise P2P system like Ariba, Coupa, GEP, Invalua for example. This person will help take on selecting the P2P system, choosing supplier, and will manage the systems administration, and continuous improvement.
