Job Summary

To lead the implementation and control of data quality and operations management, assuring data is fit for consumption and meets the needs of our data consumers. The successful candidate will develop and manage a governed approach to ensure data fit for purpose based on data consumers’ requirements; defining standards and specifications for data quality controls as part of the data lifecycle; defines and implements processes to measure, monitor, and report on data quality levels; and identifies and advocates for opportunities to improve the quality of data through process and system improvements.

Essential Functions

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the organization, including product, engineering, analytics, and business units, to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions that align with business objectives.
  •  Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine data processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Identify bottlenecks, recommend solutions, and implement streamlined workflows.
  •  Quality Assurance: Establish data quality standards and perform regular audits to identify and rectify data inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and anomalies. Implement strategies to enhance data quality and reliability.
  • Define high quality data and develop and enact a data quality strategy and program of regular maintenance to support data quality.
  • Define the scope and process to assess data quality, including identifying critical data, existing business and maintenance rules, and data patterns.
  • Craft and perform an initial data quality assessment of critical data, identifying and prioritizing issues, and performing root cause analyses of issues.
  • Identify and prioritize required improvements, based on business impact.
  • Develop preventative and corrective actions to improve data quality and validate actions can be implemented.
  • Develop and deploy data operations, including establishing unit and process operational procedures, and executing corrective actions to remedy quality defects.
  • Manage and enforce data quality initiatives and standards, including data acquisition, enhancement, cleansing, and updating within and across application platforms.
  • Measure and monitor the quality of critical data, reporting on data quality levels and findings.

Requirements

  • Must have 10+ years of relative experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related business or quantitative discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Strong data governance background, with deep knowledge of data quality management.
  • Proficiency with data management or metadata management technology products
  • Working knowledge of databases and database structures to enable articulating data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users
  • Ability to evaluate business requirements and recommend solutions in the form of products and services
  • Experience with leading business process reengineering and business process assessment
  • Experience with leading and/or supporting data quality operations teams
  • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
  • Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users
