The incumbent will be an integral member of the Global Value & Access (GV&A) team and is responsible for the design and implementation of health economic models that describe complex disease processes to understand and evaluate the implications of clinical trials and real-world data; demonstrate the value of interventions beyond efficacy, and assess benefits, risks, and the economic consequences associated with medical technologies. If you have a passion for health economic modeling to conduct cost-effectiveness analyses of health technologies and have experience conceptualizing and implementing advanced modeling techniques using decision-analytic models (e.g., decision trees, Markov, individual state-transition, survival partition) and simulation models, an exciting position at my client is waiting for you!


The incumbent will act as scientific leader in the latest modelling methodology that optimizes the assessment of the company Neurology products, and will be responsible to deliver high quality and impactful models to ensure optimal patient access. In addition, the incumbent will ensure quality is maintained in all aspects of technical work as well as manage performance and ensure adequate training and support of staff. Some travel may be required for project management and/or business development.

Essential Functions


Conceptualization, design and implementation of health economic models to conduct cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and budget impact analyses of health technologies.


Serve as the subject matter expert and independent project lead responsible for overseeing all aspects of project initiation, implementation, and delivery.


Lead and manage the execution of advanced modelling and/or health economic projects including but not limited to: advanced models (natural history, microsimulation, Markov, compartmental, among others); applied health economic models (cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, budget-impact, burden of illness, etc.) as well as the potential for observational health economic studies (prospective or retrospective study of cost and/or outcomes).


Conduct systematic literature reviews, comparative effectiveness assessments, and indirect treatment comparisons as needed to identify evidence gaps, opportunities for strategic evidence generation and areas of value differentiation.


Reviews and finalizes project deliverables, ensures study findings are valid and reliable.


Key project deliverables include: model/study conceptualization, development of analysis plans, programming of core economic models, model calibration, model validation, interpretation of model results and sensitivity analyses, protocol, technical report and manuscript writing.


Leads interactions with academic institutions and vendors, develops and maintains client relationships.


As project lead/principal investigator has project budget, deliverable and timeline responsibility; identifies scope expansion and need for project amendments.


Mapping of payer/HTA engagement timelines for key global markets and coordinate stakeholders’ engagement and responses to HTA and reimbursement challenges in close collaboration with Global, Regional, and local Market Access teams.


Requirements:


A postgraduate degree such as Masters, MBA, PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Biostatistics, MD, PharmD or a similar program.


7+ years relevant access and value experiences in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry or consultancy


Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in economic modeling of health technologies.


Broad experience in health economics and development of models suitable for submission to Health Technology Assessment agencies or to support other reimbursement decisions.


Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders is preferred.


Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint


Experience of leading cross-functional project teams working in a matrixed environment.


Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).


Demonstrated ability to lead global project teams to deliver projects across therapeutic areas, preferably in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, in a fast-paced environment.


Project and budget management experience.


Knowledge and experience of vendor management.


Excellent communication, leadership, organizational skills.


Scientific writing and presentation skills.
