Role Description

This is a full-time Health and Safety Manager role. The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive HS plan, policies and procedures throughout the business. The Health and Safety Manager will work with relevant teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with HS-related matters, including but not limited to occupational safety, workplace safety, statutory compliance activities, regulatory compliance, training and competence development for the workforce. This is a hybrid role, located in Telford but some work from home is acceptable.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, lead-auditor OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, etc.
  • Beneficial additional qualifications in delivering accredited training; first aid, fire safety, manual handling.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in HS management, which includes but is not limited to risk assessment, incident investigation, auditing, policy and procedure writing, training delivery and compliance management.
  • A good understanding of national legislation, regulations, codes of practice, standards, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading HS deliverables to a high standard and within an agreed budget.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills.
