Job Description

Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor (Contract - Outside IR35)

 

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

 

Type: Full-time, Project Construction Role

 

Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension – start Feb 2024

 

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a full-time project construction role based in the Sheffield area. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety standards on-site, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a safe working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and rectify potential health and safety hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with current regulations and industry best practices.
  • Provide advice and guidance to project teams on health and safety matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to health and safety.
  • Deliver health and safety training to project staff as required.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in health and safety processes.


Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent. Construction Certificate advantageous.
  • SMSTS
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in a construction environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
