Embedded Software and Systems Engineers - £ Good, comprehensive package, salary dependant upon experience

An excellent opportunity for capable Embedded Software and Systems Engineers Engineers, with strong Embedded C programming and Embedded System design and development experience to join the established R & D team of this global technology company and be extensively involved in the design, development and evaluation of new Embedded Systems for commercial Electronics products which will be sold worldwide.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Embedded System analysis and architecture; build up the technical requirements for the product, and identify/research suitable approaches and architectural solutions that can satisfy the project goals.
• Producing technical documentation to describe the system design; Create and maintain detailed system and software specifications, using appropriate techniques and visual models.
• Designing, developing and maintaining embedded code; Produce software modules in accordance with the architectural design requirements, using appropriate model-based design tools and conventions.
• Module and integrated systems verification; Evaluate the embedded solution(s), working with other team members to produce test plans.
• Undertake research and self-study to supplement training and development, enhance skills and knowledge, and prepare for career advancement.
• Research developments in new technology, methods and industry approaches to improve the Embedded Systems processes, and to provide future improvements in product development.
• Mentor and support junior members of the team with the technical aspect of their work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Degree level qualification in a System or Software Engineering discipline plus 3 years relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.
• Embedded C programming and formal code development.
• Processes, quality systems, and standards for embedded systems and software development (e.g. IEC 60730).
• Methods and techniques for system and software architecture and module design.
• Project management (software development life-cycle).
• Modelling and Simulation tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink).
• User Interface development.
• Digital and analogue embedded systems (sensors, display technologies, communication and bus protocols) (e.g. I2C, LIN).
