Software Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer - Safety Critical Communication Systems - Notts, to £55K


This is an interesting role for an experienced Software / Firmware Engineer to join a company who develop high reliability, intrinsically safe communication systems for life and safety critical systems. As a Software / Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for software development, software design, embedded software development, debugging, and firmware development.


You will work closely with the engineering team to create and optimize firmware solutions for these safety critical systems.


There is a flexibility on working from home for the right person with some days at the office on a when needed basis.


You will need:


  • Strong skills in a mix of C++, Windows and embedded software design and development
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting firmware issues
  • Experience in firmware development for industrial applications
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ and Assembly
  • Microprocessor programming experience
  • Assembler programming on PIC32 and ARM machines
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively


Bonus points for :


  • C# knowledge
  • Experience in the electronics, telecoms or industrial automation industry
