Marketing Creative Content Designer II

Position Summary:

The Marketing Creative Content Designer Level 2 combines their Graphic Design skills and Marketing experience to create the visual Marketing, and Sales Enablement assets that represent multiple brands. This individual develops, designs, and executes creative assets for multi-channel integrated brand, marketing, and sales enablement campaigns, including digital, social media, catalog, digital and print advertising, photo, video, event design and other assets as needed, ensuring consistency in brand voice, while positioning content to resonate with each respective segment and channel.

This role collaborates effectively with Product Management, Merchandising, Creative (product development design and production), and Sales departments and team members to drive consumer, retailer, and distributor engagement with programs that drive brand awareness, traffic, retention, advocacy, and revenue. The Marketing Creative Content Designer Level 2 will need to have a solid understanding of developing content for web development, enhancing the UX and UI for the target consumer, and ability to work with subject matter experts in building out web designs and updates. In addition to excellence in content output, the Marketing Creative Content Designer Level 2 contributes with strategic thinking, day-to-day subject matter leadership, and expert-level process knowledge to other department and cross-functional team members on day-to-day deliverables and projects. Day-to-day supervision is limited.


Content Design and Development:

·      Be a brand leader and collaborate in the development of brand strategies for all brands within the company, which drive overall business strategy, and support channel strategies while always maintaining brand standards.

·      Be the first point of contact for questions, training and mentoring of Content Graphic Designers on design process within the Marketing Content Team, or the overall vision.

·      Serve as the project lead for the Marketing Content Team’s projects for assigned brands and business channels in collaboration with the overall marketing team, creative team, sales team, and other stakeholders to plan, conceptualize, create, analyze, prioritize, and execute assigned projects.

·      Create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, influence, inform, or captivate an audience. 

·      Often leads or participates in brainstorms to develop innovative content that is brand right and supports Marketing strategies to meets retailer, customer, and consumer needs.

·      Demonstrate a strong understanding and stay informed of relevant theories and trends in copy, design, illustration, composition, typography, color, and related technology, and incorporate them into new, original, meaningful concepts.

·      Keep up to date with trends in digital media (including social media, website development, and google ads), software, and traditional marketing efforts (print, magazine ads, catalog development, etc.).

·      Actively participate and provide input on the creation of, implementation, and maintenance of, brand and marketing style guidelines for the brands.

·      Lead the charge on new concepts, establishing new brand identities, including establishing and maintaining the brand voice.

·      Brainstorms and illustrates concepts by designing trend boards, mockups, rough layouts of art and copy regarding strategy, trend, arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.

·      Perform regular research, analytics, and influence others of current market trends, vendors and other departmental topics that build our brands, drive competitive advantages, and meaningful POD in the marketplace.

·      Effectively and efficiently uses Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign software programs to deliver consistently fresh and relevant content (motion design and 3D tools a plus).

·      Understanding of the inner workings of Social Media Marketing – especially Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and TikTok in order to develop brand and UX related content.

·      Video expertise and vision regarding filming and editing content for sales training and events, educational videos, and brand-marketing campaigns preferred.

 

Technical Skills and Additional Experience:

·      Experience with Marketing campaign creation and launch to effectively drive awareness, funnel creation, and conversion/adoption, market penetration, and customer/consumer relationship building.

·      Effectively and efficiently uses Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign software programs to deliver consistently fresh and relevant content (motion design and 3D tools a plus).

·      Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills including consistently producing 100% accuracy and creativity.

·      Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing error free and high- quality design content.

·      Well-versed in hashtag use, and how to use them correctly in campaign developing in a digital content space.

·      Ability to utilize DropBox, WeTransfer, FTP, DAM, and ERP system to be able to manage the flow of Marketing assets.

·      Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

·      Experience with B2B, and D2C web platforms a plus.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

·      Proactive communication and collaboration with the Product Marketing, Creative Design, and Sales teams as well as other stakeholders to plan, conceptualize, create, analyze, organize, and execute assigned projects.

·      Work as part of the Marketing Content Creative team to develop and maintain effective and consistent graphics and Marketing assets that support brand strategy.

·      Be flexible and endorses changes in the work environment in ways that help enhance each brand within the umbrella and create efficiencies in our workflow.

·      Ability to receive and give constructive feedback, respectfully, from other team members with an open mind—knowing that the end goal is doing what is right for the organization.

·      Gives or incorporates design feedback throughout multi-layered review process.

 

Workflow Management:

·      Proactively prioritizes projects, campaigns, and assignments, from the content calendar with little or no supervision, from creation to completion meeting deadlines and staying within budget.

·      Consistently meets all project and task deadlines as assigned by Marketing Director.

·      Be flexible and adapt to changes in the work environment in ways that help other members keep projects on course.

·      Reviews current processes within the department and makes recommendations to remove bottlenecks and better utilize the time available to complete work tasks and activities.

·      Exhibits full responsibility for one’s own work achievements and consistently maintains a high level of self-management that contributes to sustained high performance.

·      Effectively use the time available to complete work tasks and activities that lead to the achievement of expected work objectives.

·      Ability to compartmentalize work to separate projects across company brands brands.

 

Requirements:

·      Bachelor’s Degree or Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or similar area required.

·      5+ years working within a marketing firm, advertising firm, design firm or other creative team environment.

·      Demonstrate graphic design skills with a strong portfolio. Must provide portfolio of work during interview process.

·      Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including a solid background in print, packaging, branding, typography, catalog production, retail graphics and digital design experience (emails and web design).

·      Marketing understanding, and how to appropriately target the right audience for the collateral being created.

·      Experience working with and evolving brand guidelines and systems.

·      Excellent design and conceptual skills, including typography, color, imagery, composition, systems structures, visual hierarchy and/or interface design.

·      Working knowledge of how to use social media, digital channels, and mobile technology as both a consumer and a marketer.
