QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR



Summary of Position:

Primary responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day activities of QC.

 

Job Duties:

  • Work within the quality system in accordance with ISO 13485, AS9100, and ISO 9001:2015. Examples include:
  • Working with interdepartmental groups i.e., Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
  • Knowledge of APQP as it relates to manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Create inspection plans and establish inspection protocols not limited to inspection method, frequency, AQL guidelines, etc.
  • Create and/or implement Work Instructions, Procedures, Forms & Logs.
  • Address/investigate any customer complaints and/or rejections as it relates to CAPA’s and provide feedback to the Quality Manager and/or leadership team.
  • Monitor and maintain workflow within the inspection department. This includes assisting inspectors on resolving inspection issues and/or verifying inspection results.
  • Initiate and conduct training efforts within the inspection department as it relates to inspection best practices (hard gauging, IP sheets, documentation, etc.)
  • Responsible for employee training as it relates to CMM’s, and other programming software’s.
  • Attend production meetings as a representative of the quality/inspection department.
  • Attend and participate in MRB meetings as a representative of the quality/inspection department.
  • Report on the performance of the quality system to the Quality Manager for the purpose of review and a basis for improvement of the quality system.
  • Set a personal example for all employees by demonstrating positive work habits, communication, and collaboration efforts.
  • Proactively engage with employees and promote quality standards through awareness, communication, and training to drive quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, gauging, inspection, and GD&T.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment for at least one of the following: ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 13485, AS9100, and NADCAP standards, as well as the ability to learn the others.
  • Experienced with programmable CMMs.
  • Experienced with CMM software (PC-DMIS).
  • Experienced with inspection tools/hard gauging tools (micrometers, calipers, height stand, gauge blocks, bore gauges, sine plate, optical comparator, profilometer, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, including the ability to perform multiple duties from multiple sources.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients.
  • ASQ Certification or interest/desire in obtaining certification.
  • Interest/desire to continue developing skill set through continued education and/or quality certification(s).
  • Computer software experience (i.e., Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with corrective lenses.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands for this position are normal for an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Safety:

  • Protective eyewear to be worn while operating machinery.
