Mechanical Engineer - $70-80K


The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of manufacturing, including operations, production, purchasing, quality, sales etc... This position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in an office / manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Product Development and Improvement: Work with customer and organizational inputs to develop, maintain, and enhance current and future product offerings. Estimate product costs accurately to support pricing strategies and quotations. Develop comprehensive process documentation for training of personnel to ensure standardization and compliance. Identify and develop new vendors to expand the supply chain and collaborate with purchasing to source components and materials. Analyze existing products to identify areas for improvement.


  • Process Development and Improvement: Work with customer and organizational inputs to develop, maintain, and enhance manufacturing processes. Design, document, and implement new processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.


  • Equipment Specification and Plant Layout: Specify, evaluate, and procure new equipment to meet manufacturing requirements. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful installation and integration of new equipment. Design and optimize plant layouts for improved workflow and productivity.


  • Support the Quality Management System: Utilize your experience to ensure the integrity of our Quality Management System.


  • Inter-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate across departments to improve process efficiency and output quality.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar engineering role is required.
  • Experience creating/modifying Bill of Materials (BOMs) and creating SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans etc.
  • Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings for part manufacture via conventional dimensioning and tolerancing. GD&T preferred.
  • Proficiency with Solidworks, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAD tool: Solid Modeling, Surface Modeling, & Sheet Metal skills
  • Experience in:
  • training production personnel,
  • working to standards. i.e. ASTM, AMS, ANSI, ISO, SAE, MIL, BS-EN, AWS
  • Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Working within an ISO 9001 or AS 9100 quality system.
