Employment Litigation Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic employment law division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment litigation, with a proven track record of successfully representing clients in a wide range of employment disputes. This role involves managing cases from inception through resolution, providing strategic legal advice, and advocating for our clients' rights in court and before administrative bodies.


Key Responsibilities:


Case Management:

  • Handle a comprehensive caseload of employment litigation matters, including but not limited to, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, perform legal research, and develop effective case strategies.

Legal Representation:

  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the EEOC and DOL.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Client Advisory:

  • Provide proactive legal advice to clients regarding potential litigation risks and strategies to minimize legal exposure.
  • Counsel clients on compliance with current employment laws and regulations.

Negotiation and Mediation:

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation sessions to resolve disputes favorably without the need for trial.

Trial Preparation and Litigation:

  • Prepare cases for trial, including conducting depositions, preparing witnesses, and developing persuasive arguments.
  • Litigate cases to verdict when necessary, demonstrating exceptional advocacy skills in the courtroom.

Professional Development:

  • Stay abreast of developments in employment law and litigation practices.
  • Contribute to the firm's knowledge base by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in NY and NJ (or the ability to gain admission promptly).
  • A minimum of three years of experience in employment litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal excellence and integrity.
