As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. Working from our Newark location, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs, providing product recommendations, and ensuring a seamless purchasing experience. This position requires a dynamic individual who is customer-focused, highly organized, and possesses excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to customers by assisting them with product inquiries, pricing, and availability of lumber and building materials. Build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Sales Generation: Actively engage in sales activities to meet and exceed sales targets. Proactively reach out to existing and potential customers to promote products, specials, and promotions. Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our product offerings, including lumber species, grades, dimensions, and building materials. Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor offerings to effectively position our products.
  • Order Processing: Efficiently process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule deliveries and manage inventory levels.
  • Quoting and Pricing: Prepare accurate quotes for customers based on their specific requirements. Negotiate pricing and terms to secure sales while maintaining profitability for the company.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, customer interactions, and inventory levels. Generate reports as needed to track sales performance and identify areas for improvement.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with CRM software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
