VP of Regulatory Affairs

Spring Valley or Brooklyn, NY

The VP of Regulatory Affairs serves as the professional liaison and interacts with local, state, and federal legislative bodies and government entities to represent the company’s business plans and interests.


Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a liaison between regulatory bodies and operating divisions, including but not limited to; local, state, federal, media inquiries, stakeholder meetings and collaborative engagements with other healthcare agencies, etc
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulations applicable to the company, which includes; ADMs, Memos, new policies, updated/revised policies, etc., ensuring the organization's compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Monitors regulatory affairs and the effect changes will have on company operations.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with members of federal, state, and local government entities and agencies.
  • Leads regulatory audits and develop remediation plans for addressing deficiencies as needed and oversee implementation of corrective actions.
  • Responds to requests for information from regulatory bodies.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the agency’s operational systems and infrastructure changes or updates
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external legal entities
  • Participates in and represents the company at State and Federal stakeholder meetings, phone calls.
  • Participates in company meetings, as necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Extensive knowledge of applicable government regulations.
  • Experience in healthcare regulations and best practices
  • Knowledge in the NYS OPWDD/ mental hygiene law
  • Knowledge in OPWDD/HH systems and hierarchical entities
  • Work experience within a healthcare environment/law firm.
  • Experience in systems of government and legislative affairs
  • Ability to research, inform and educate managers and department heads on regulations and polices that require compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Relationship Management Skills.
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
