Controls Engineer

An advanced technology OEM of turnkey automated machinery solutions is looking for a highly experienced Controls Engineer to help provide integrative innovative turnkey robotic machinery solutions. A hands-on technical and business unit leader, the Controls Engineer will excel in programmihng with high proficiency for successful solutions to ensure profitability goals are met with revolutionary technology products. 

 

The Controls Engineer with have the opportunity and ability to:

  • Design, program, debug, and support automated systems and equipment for production
  • Offer electrical design input and assist in concept and development efforts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical and controls equipment
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including management, operators, supervisors, and engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement and possess a self-motivated working style
  • Design electrical hardware and safety control circuits
  • Create electrical hardware drawings and schematics using AutoCAD
  • Develop cost estimates for electrical systems
  • Program machine software for various components
  • Understand IT systems, networking, and IoT technologies
  • Troubleshoot during machine build and early-stage running
  • Provide technical support for in-house technicians
  • Review designs to ensure quality and adherence to internal practices
  • Communicate project updates in a clear and concise manner
  • Travel as required for robot system installations and customer support

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support technical writing of training materials and operation manuals
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping

Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
  • Navigation of facilities, including climbing stairs and ladders


The Controls Engineer will be required to have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology disciplines, or 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Training or experience with A/B and Omron PLCs, Yaskawa Robots, and AutoCAD Electrical
  • Specialization in robotics subject areas such as controls, motion planning, computer vision, and system integration
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, 3D modeling, and MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on work preference
  • Excellent communication, professional, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and potentially internationally (valid passport required)
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States

The Robotics Engineer will be rewarded with:
