Mechanical Design Engineer

A leading, international provider of high-quality production turnkey systems and universal machining centers is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience in mechanical engineering with a desire to work as a team. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs, working with the team to design the equipment.

OTE: $73,000 - $94,0000 (Includes salary of $65,000-$80,000 + Overtime Pay)

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for

·       Developing the (3-D) mechanical designs metal cutting machines, grippers, press stations, robotic cells, assembly machines, and automation

·       Interpreting and analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and requirements for design implementation.

·       Providing mechanical designs primarily for automotive customers, meeting their specific requirements and expectations.

·       Coordinating all systems and components to ensure the efficient operation of metal cutting machines and assembly equipment for the customer.

·       Calculating and interpreting, and analyzing technical drawings and defining components

·       Finding innovative solutions to overcome problems and ensure the successful implementation of mechanical designs.

·       Collaborating with cross-functional teams to control changes needed in designs due to various factors.

·       Willing to travel internationally and domestic. (Light travel)

The Mechanical Design Engineer will excel with:

·       Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial design/Engineering or equivalent.

·       Two years’ experience in mechanical/electrical systems design and applications engineering, working knowledge of material handling, robotics, machine controls and manufacturing engineering and processes.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in ACAD or Solidworks.
• Knowledge of ISO, DIN Standards and metric system
• Knowledge of machining operations, lean manufacturing, and automation equipment is required
• Strong knowledge of static and dynamic mechanics
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• Proficient with NX

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be rewarded with:

·      $65,000-80,000 base salary, dependent on experience.
