They are seeking a Medical Summaries Legal Assistant to help play a vital role in supporting their legal team by efficiently summarizing and analyzing medical records and documents related to client cases. The Medical Summaries Legal Assistant will be crucial in helping attorneys build strong cases and provide exceptional legal representation to clients.
The Medical Summaries Legal Assistant will be responsible for:
· Reviewing and summarizing medical records, including diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and any other pertinent information. Ensure accuracy and completeness in summarizing complex medical data.
· Organizing and categorizing medical information to facilitate easy retrieval and reference for attorneys and paralegals. Identify key medical issues relevant to legal cases.
· Working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals to understand the specific needs of each case and provide medical summaries tailored to those requirements.
· Conducting research on medical topics and terminology as needed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of medical records and reports.
· Preparing well-structured, concise, and accurate medical summary reports and documents for use in legal proceedings, depositions, and trials.
· Handling sensitive medical information with the utmost discretion and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant privacy regulations.
· Maintaining open communication with clients, medical professionals, and internal team members to obtain necessary medical records and clarify any medical-related queries.
The Medical Summaries Legal Assistant will have:
· Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare records.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
· Prior experience in a legal environment or medical records analysis is a plus.
The Medical Summaries Legal Assistant will be compensated with:
· $37,000 + DOE
