Our client is a Joint Commission-accredited residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally at-risk adolescent girls. They are looking for a Psychiatric Nursing Practioner to join their team.


Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:


· Reviews and signs nursing and clinical treatment plans.

· Makes referrals to specialists when needed. Supervises the referral services.

· Assesses, observes, & interviews students.

· Prescribes and monitors prescription drugs.

· Prescribes and monitors non-prescription medications.

· Provides on-call clinical emergency consultation, authorization of treatment procedures, advises on medical issues, treatment program revisions, & staff consultation.

· Issues verbal and written orders to nursing staff.

· Consults with and directs Nursing and Med Pass staff when needed.

· Participates in weekly team meetings

· Participates in outside treatment reviews (“doc-to-doc” phone calls), writes letters, and otherwise communicates with outside agencies when required.

· Interacts with the student’s guardian and outside agencies when clinically appropriate.

· Completes initial psychiatric evaluation and monthly psychiatric update for each student.

· Keeps full and accurate medical records for psychiatric encounters

· Orders and reviews labs, radiologic procedures, and other information when appropriate.

· Adheres to the Company’s policy and practice concerning the creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check, and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid AZ Driver's License
  • Education: Nursing degree and certification as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with current Arizona and DEA licensure as required by State and Federal laws. Licensed specialty must be in psychiatry.
  • Experience: Behavioral Health experience is highly preferred.
  • Other: Must be physically able to assist in AWOL searches in mountainous terrain
