**Job Title:** Stamping and Assembly Supervisor/Manager


**Location:** Gadsden, AL area


**Reports to:** Plant Manager/Operations Manager


**Job Summary:**


The Stamping and Assembly Manager is responsible for overseeing the stamping and assembly operations within the automotive manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. The manager will lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators to achieve production targets, maintain equipment, and improve processes while ensuring a safe work environment.


**Key Responsibilities:**


1. **Leadership & Management:**

  - Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators in the stamping and assembly departments.

  - Ensure that production schedules are met by coordinating daily activities and managing resources effectively.

  - Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.


2. **Production Oversight:**

  - Oversee the stamping and assembly processes, ensuring that all products are manufactured to specification, on time, and within budget.

  - Monitor production metrics such as cycle time, scrap rates, and machine uptime to identify areas for improvement.

  - Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that downtime is minimized.


3. **Quality Control:**

  - Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.

  - Implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and rework.

  - Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.


4. **Safety & Compliance:**

  - Ensure that all operations comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

  - Promote a strong safety culture by conducting regular safety audits, training, and emergency drills.

  - Address and resolve any safety concerns promptly.


5. **Process Improvement:**

  - Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

  - Collaborate with engineering teams to introduce new technologies and processes.

  - Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize stamping and assembly operations.


6. **Budget & Cost Control:**

  - Manage departmental budgets and ensure that all operations are conducted within financial constraints.

  - Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.


7. **Collaboration:**

  - Work closely with other departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure seamless operations.

  - Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries related to stamping and assembly processes.


**Qualifications:**


- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. 

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automotive stamping and assembly operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of stamping and assembly processes, equipment, and tooling.

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in using ERP systems and production management software.

- Understanding of automotive industry standards and quality requirements (e.g., IATF 16949).


**Preferred Qualifications:**


- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).

- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).

- Experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.


**Working Conditions:**


- The role is primarily based in a manufacturing plant environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.

- May require occasional travel to other manufacturing sites or customer locations.


**Salary:** $75-80K DOE
