**Job Summary:**


The Stamping and Assembly Assistant Manager supports the Stamping and Assembly Manager in overseeing daily operations within the automotive manufacturing plant. This role involves assisting in managing production activities, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe working environment. The Assistant Manager will help lead a team, drive process improvements, and support the achievement of production goals.


**Key Responsibilities:**


1. **Team Leadership:**

  - Assist in supervising and guiding production supervisors, technicians, and operators in the stamping and assembly departments.

  - Support the Stamping and Assembly Manager in training and developing staff to enhance team performance.

  - Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Stamping and Assembly Manager.


2. **Production Support:**

  - Assist in planning and coordinating daily production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products.

  - Monitor and report on production metrics, identifying any issues that may affect output or quality.

  - Collaborate with the maintenance team to address equipment issues promptly and minimize downtime.


3. **Quality Assurance:**

  - Support quality control initiatives to ensure all products meet customer specifications and industry standards.

  - Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any quality defects or concerns.

  - Work with the Quality Assurance team to maintain and improve quality standards.


4. **Safety & Compliance:**

  - Assist in enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

  - Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety training programs.

  - Help to create a culture of safety awareness within the team.


5. **Process Improvement:**

  - Work with the Stamping and Assembly Manager to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.

  - Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimize production efficiency.

  - Support the introduction of new technologies or processes to improve stamping and assembly operations.


6. **Collaboration & Communication:**

  - Liaise with other departments, such as Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth operations.

  - Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to keep everyone informed of production status and challenges.

  - Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management review.


7. **Administrative Duties:**

  - Assist in maintaining accurate records of production activities, including inventory management, work orders, and timekeeping.

  - Help manage departmental budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations.

  - Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other administrative activities as required.


**Qualifications:**


- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- 3-5 years of experience in automotive stamping and assembly operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

- Strong knowledge of stamping and assembly processes, equipment, and tooling.

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in using ERP systems and production management software.

- Understanding of automotive industry standards and quality requirements (e.g., IATF 16949).


**Preferred Qualifications:**


- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt).

- Experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


**Working Conditions:**


- Primarily based in a manufacturing plant environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.

- May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on production demands.


**Salary:** $60-70k DOE
