Duties: Mechanical Technical Specialist

The Mechanical Technical Specialist will provide technical troubleshooting skills to maintenance and operations to restore product flow, as well as provide technical leadership and training to craft employees. The person in this role is also expected to work with the area engineering staff to develop technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems. They will assist the maintenance department in short and long-term outage planning, and assist supervisors and crafts in following up on VPM issues and items from the daily management action register. 

Temp to hire position. $25-29 per hour to start.

Shift-Day shift 7a-530p


RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities Mechanical Technical Specialist

  • Experience in troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and Rockwell Control Logix series Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Strong maintenance background.
  • Adherence to manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Involvement with continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods
  • Work hand in hand with craft employees 
  • Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel 
  • Assist in justification of new equipment 
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues 
  • Adhere to EH&S, quality, continuous improvement and other company policies
  • Integrated role as direct support of the Maintenance Organization
  • Respond to trouble calls when on shift and on call
  • Note: This position will require frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support


Basic Qualifications Mechanical Technical Specialist

  • Experience in troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and Rockwell Control Logix series Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Strong maintenance background.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Mechanical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Gas fired combustion system exposure desired


Education: HS Diploma or GED
