Position: Estimator

Location: Folsom, California  

Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000/year

Role Overview


As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and supporting cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.


Core Duties


- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.

- Establish and maintain client relationships, ensuring project bids meet their requirements.

- Review specifications to understand project requirements.

- Identify project-specific factors like schedules, safety requirements, and risk management needs.

- Handle pre-qualification and bid submissions.

- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids.

- Prepare detailed estimates covering work processes, hours, materials, and subcontractor selection.

- Maintain clear communication with team members, contractors, engineers, and suppliers during the bidding process.

- Calculate total labor, material, equipment, and insurance costs for bids.

- Input and verify information in estimating software.

- Ensure all bid documents are accurate and submitted on time.

- Participate in project review meetings with clients and project teams.

- Update and manage an estimating database for future projects.

- Collaborate with project teams to review job costs and identify lessons learned.

- Analyze unsuccessful bids to improve future estimating accuracy.

- Maintain professionalism in all interactions according to our Code of Business Conduct.


Qualifications


- 3-5 years of progressive estimating experience.

- Preferably, 3+ years of field construction experience and knowledge of civil construction methods.

- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

- Experience with HCSS estimating software is a plus.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Physically able to conduct field visits and carry up to 75 lbs.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

- Authorized to work in the United States.
