Foundry Mold Technician

Location: Anniston, AL


Temp to hire position. Pay $15-20 per hour DOE


Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Foundry Mold Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining molds used in the foundry process to produce high-quality metal castings. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.


Job Summary:

 Perform a combination of tasks, including melting metals, pouring melted metals into molds, removing castings from molds, and moving sand, castings, and other foundry materials. Below is a minimal representation of what is expected of a Foundry Worker.

 Job Essential Duties and Responsibilities: For Molding Department

·       Knowledge of green sand molding.

·       Knowledge of Disa Molding machine.

·       Knowledge of basic math skills and ability to calculate time.

·       Ability to multi-task and communicate with co-workers.

·       Ability to work around molten iron safely.

·       Ability to work short notice over time.

·       Ability to safely operate a fork-lift in tight areas.

·       Remove gates, sprues, and other projections from castings.

·       The ability to acquire and maintain knowledge to correctly set molding parameters according to work instructions.

·       Visually be able to inspect procedures and determine any issues and defects

·       Notify the Lead and correct any defects as permissible, if possible, according to specifications

·       Work with other departments to run efficiently.

·       Follow oral and written instructions and directions given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects

·       Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems

·       Work as a team within the department and with other departments and Leads

·       Ensure the work area is clean and safe 

·       Other duties may be assigned as needed; this is not a complete list

 Requirements:

 Be on time and at your station, ready to work when your shift starts.

Work Environment:

 In typical manufacturing environments, including loud noise levels, heat, and dirt, steel-toed shoes, dust masks, respirators, and safety glasses are a must

 Physical Demands:

·       Must be able to stand, sit, and bend for extended periods

·       Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds

·       Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces
