Summary

Directs activities of workers concerned with implementing construction projects by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Estimate and manage construction projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Order procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
  • Assists project manager to direct field personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Prepare or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
  • Review contract drawings and address RFIs.
  • Monitoring the job, keeping track of drawings, submittals, RFI’s and logs.
  • Procure materials being purchased for the jobsite.
  • Monitor, track, and call vendors on equipment or materials that are long lead.
  • Review and have complete knowledge of job specifications, contract, warranty, close out documents, startup procedures and documentation.


Direct supervisory responsibilities to superintendent in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
