The Tax Director/Partner in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) at our firm plays a crucial leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of tax-related matters and M&A activities. This individual will provide strategic guidance to clients, lead a team of professionals, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while optimizing opportunities for mergers and acquisitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business objectives to optimize tax efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice on domestic and international tax issues, including compliance, planning, and risk management.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization and its clients.
  • Lead and coordinate due diligence efforts for M&A transactions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to structure deals and transactions tax-efficiently.
  • Provide strategic guidance on post-merger integration and restructuring to maximize tax benefits.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic tax planning and M&A advice.
  • Conduct client meetings and presentations to articulate complex tax concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA required.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and M&A transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Consistent business development experience required.
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.

Compensation:

  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $220,000 to $500,000+, based on individual’s experience level.
