Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a Senior Estimator who will lead and enhance our estimating functions. The Senior Estimator is pivotal in our pre-bid operations, from attending meetings and job walks to finalizing and submitting bids. This individual will serve as the primary contact for clients during the bid process and will ensure all estimations are precise and tailored to the project specifications.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in pre-bid project meetings and conduct detailed site evaluations.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with clients, understanding and aligning with their project requirements.
  • Review project specifications thoroughly to identify key project variables such as schedules, safety hazards, penalty clauses, and other risk factors.
  • Oversee the pre-qualification and submission processes for bids.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor bids, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget.
  • Develop comprehensive estimates including labor, materials, and equipment costs, utilizing our preferred estimating software.
  • Ensure all bid documents are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather post-project insights to refine future estimations.
  • Train and mentor team members in effective estimating practices.
  • Uphold professional standards in line with our company’s code of conduct during all client and team interactions.


Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • At least 3 years of field construction experience, with a strong grasp of civil construction methods and practices.
  • Proficiency in HCSS or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform site visits and pre-bid assessments.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
