Remote Position: Transmission Planning Engineer - Mid Level


We are seeking a Mid-level Transmission Planning Engineer for multiple office locations with remote work options available. Candidates can indicate their preferred location in the application.


**Must work within the USA, preferably Texas.**


**Roles and Responsibilities:**

- Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs.

- Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models.

- Conduct various power system studies: feasibility, system impact, reactive compensation, stability, planning, short circuit, load flow, interconnection, and power factor correction.

- Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities.


**Required Education/Experience:**

- BSEE degree.

- 5+ years in transmission planning system studies.

- Must be able to lead system impact studies.

- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

- 3+ years with PSS/E.

- Project leadership and mentoring experience.

- Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes.

- Willingness to travel up to 10%.


**Desired Education/Experience:**

- MSEE or PhD.

- 5+ years with PSS/E.

- 7-10 years in transmission planning studies.

- PE registration or equivalent.

- Experience with additional software: PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World.

- Coding and automation skills.


**Compensation:**

- **Base Salary:** USD $100,000 to $150,000

**Ideal Candidate:**

The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience with system impact studies from another consulting company.
