Prestigious law firm in search of a seasoned legal administrative assistant to join their Patent Practice Group, located in their Portsmouth, NH office.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiating new client matters
Managing electronic patent prosecution files
Compiling patent application filing documents, such as application data sheets, declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, and PCT requests
Supervising the signature workflow for formal documents like declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney
Documenting and submitting paperwork to the USPTO
Crafting correspondence letters for incoming USPTO and international patent office documents, as well as communication with foreign agents
Creating office action response templates and handling electronic filings of responses
Preparing information disclosure statements and securing foreign art and non-patent literature
Assessing incoming documents for prior art to cite in information disclosure statements
Corresponding with foreign agents
Managing attorney dockets and calendars to ensure deadlines are met and promptly informing clients of actions taken
Maintaining current knowledge of USPTO procedures
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of experience supporting litigation practice, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent filing and prosecution
Proficiency in Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, standard patent docketing systems, and standard document management databases
