Job Description Summary
is seeking a Patent Agent with 2-5 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, Patent Development and Strategy Subgroup for our Boston, Philadelphia, DC, Reston, San Diego, Palo Alto or Seattle office. We prefer candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized schools as well as prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm. Background in life sciences and in particular biotechnology, registration with the USPTO and advanced degree, prefer PhD, in molecular and cellular biology or similar disciplines (excluding chemistry, medical device, or pharmaceutical sciences). Candidates who have litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark experience are preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay Transparency
The expected annual pay range for this position, if hired to work in California is $120,000 – $225,000 per year. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications.
