Our client provides behavioral health services to juvenile youth in correctional facilities and/or outpatient programs. We are seeking an Assistant Director of Clinical Services to join their team in Tampa.


Overview

Providing individual therapeutic services to youth as determined by the treatment team, developing youth needs assessments and psychosocial histories to formulate treatment plans, prioritizing treatment plans to focus on youth mental health and substance abuse issues, and ensuring monthly updates reflecting progress; ensuring documentation related to individual, group, and family sessions, as well as monthly progress reports.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Conducts needs assessments and psychosocial to identify early issues for treatment emphasis by speaking with the resident and their family members one-on-one and transcribing pertinent material under the direction of the licensed clinical supervisor.
  • under the direction of the licensed clinical supervisor, takes part in the creation and execution of treatment plans.
  • Using a variety of expert therapy modalities, conducts group and family process-oriented therapies under the direction of a qualified clinical supervisor.
  • identifies the residents' aftercare needs using information from the treatment team and written chart information to create and help in tailored discharge planning for the patients.
  • Participates in regular treatment team meetings to offer the interdisciplinary team with the therapists' perspective on the overall case management of the resident. This is done by reading and discussing written progress notes from charts and communicating any local or state agency legal requirements for case management. keeps track of therapy services overall
  • organizes groups for residents and family members that are didactic and educational
  • makes handwritten notes about the therapy that was received, the status of the discharge planning procedure, and/or other interventions in the resident charges.
  • reports suspected abuse situations utilizing the appropriate community/state agency's forms and procedures.
  • carries out individual therapy in accordance with the teen's unique treatment plan.
  • keeps license current in accordance with state laws
  • runs groups for substance abuse intervention and education.
  • Identify, address, and stop the abuse of young people.
  • regularly and successfully applies the programs Behavior Management System (BMS) and Positive Performance System (PPS)
  • carries out additional tasks as directed by a supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must have a master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related human services profession, as well as a current Florida license (LMHC/LCSW/LMFT), preferably with at least a year of experience working directly with children and adolescents after receiving the license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Only when the operation of a vehicle, as opposed to employee mobility, is required to carry out the fundamental functions of the position will appointees be required to have a driver's license that is valid in the state where the work site is located.
