We are searching for an experienced Estimator specializing in heavy civil projects, particularly roads and bridges, on behalf of our client. Our client is a reputable general contractor specializing in heavy/highway, civil, and industrial construction. This position reports to the Vice President of Estimating.

Responsibilities

• Calculate statistical data: Quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, and equipment.
• Research historical data for estimating guidelines.
• Contribute to project update and bid package documents.
• Maintain working document files.
• Monitor conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• 8+ years of additional relevant experience can substitute for the degree. 
• 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution preferred. 
• Mandatory knowledge of construction materials and the ability to recognize material designations (e.g., W section and HP section).
• General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing is essential.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective teamwork capabilities.
• Proficiency in performing mathematical extensions and interpreting engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
• Proficiency in using Bluebeam and MS Excel.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Consistent, dependable, diligent, and thorough work ethic.
• Adept at problem-solving and finding solutions.
