Automation Project Engineer
We are seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineer to develop automated assembly equipment for use in manufacturing disposable medical devices. Ideally you will have some knowledge of manufacturing production processes, creating and managing automated assembly system projects. You will work with senior automation engineers to guide automation vendors in the conceptualization and quotation of special purpose automated assembly equipment. Once a concept and budget is approved, you will help oversee the build and production implementation and de-bugging, making adjustments as necessary. The goal is to create equipment that meet all specifications and quality standards with the most cost-effective process. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of industry experience.
Manufacturing Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the development of new medical device, special purpose automated assembly equipment.
Support existing manufacturing automation technology with component and process upgrades.
Assess and analyze current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
Assist in the creation of new products, work processes, and other manufacturing needs.
Develop and draft a plan for all manufacturing procedures.
Develop and implement efficient quality control processes and cost-saving measures.
Test all equipment for safety and effectiveness.
Repair or redesign malfunctioning equipment.
Direct and oversee the full lifecycle of a product’s manufacturing process, including design, construction, packaging, and quality control.
Execute FAT, SAT, and IQ/OQ/PQ of new automated manufacturing equipment.
Educate, train, and supervise new employees on current manufacturing and workflow processes.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or related engineering field.
1+ year of manufacturing experience
Strong mechanical design skills
Proficient in data analysis programs and Microsoft Suite.
Experience using CAD (computer-aided design)
Effective management skills
Other Desired Manufacturing Engineer skills:
Familiarity with PLCs and Ladder Logic
Familiarity with vision systems
Familiarity with Robotics
