Plant Controller - Manufacturing

 

We are searching for a Controller to deliver accounting, financial planning, and analysis support for our Grandview Missouri area operation. We are looking for a proactive person who will play a key role in partnering with both sales and operations leadership to deliver insight into business performance and enable continuous improvement.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Acting as the primary financial partner to the Grandview plant leadership team
  • Participating in the monthly close process including recording some journal entries
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports and metrics
  • Providing first level review of results to identify trends and anomalies
  • Effectively communicating monthly plant results to executive leadership team
  • Reviewing monthly/quarterly results with functional budget owners
  • Building plant forecasts with input from multiple sources during the annual budget process
  • Revising standard costs annually and perform monthly variance analysis
  • Analyzing, reconciling, and auditing inventory for raw materials, work in process, and finished goods
  • Working with internal audit team to ensure Sox Control adherence through testing and remediation
  • Executing blank-page projects: developing reports/analyses/processes without existing templates

What You Need to Succeed:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience working with financial data in a dynamic environment; Sales and Operations planning experience a plus
  • Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and related financial systems; experience with JD Edwards (or modern ERP system) and Business Intelligent software a plus
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal
  • Able to communicate complex topics in an effective and concise manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills with regional perspective. You will interact with employees from numerous functions in North America
  • Process-driven; proven analytic and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to see the “big picture” while maintaining a strong attention to detail
