Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to provide leadership and coordination of our company’s finance and accounting functions. The Controller will support the CFO in providing management with vital information to make informed decisions, coordinate and prepare all financial statements as well as set in place internal controls to help support and scale the finance function. This is a highly visible role in the organization and will report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

§ Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

§ Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results across all segments and acquisitions.

§ Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

§ Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

§ Managing the budget process with key stakeholders

§ Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes

§ Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

§ Actively support the implementation of an ERP system

§ Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

§ Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

§ Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

§ Manage annual audit process to successful completion

Candidate Profile

§ BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

§ 10+ years of technical accounting and/or financial reporting experience

§ CPA (or equivalent) with US GAAP experience

§ Experience in a Big 4/large national accounting firm

§ Experience leading financial reporting teams in a corporate environment. Private equity experience is preferred.

§ Experience with building cross-functional relationships and partnering with senior leaders

§ Consumer goods/products experience considered a plus

§ Experience with ERP systems; and implementation experience preferred

§ Experienced in acquisition accounting and integration

§ Experience in a manufacturing environment
