The primary objective of the Tax Staff Accountant is to assist the finance team int he operation and maintenance of the general ledger, preparing financial reporting, overseeing the firms cash activity for all offices.

Responsibilities

·        Coordinate partner compensation, draws and partnership distribution calculations

·        Assists with partner withdraws and retirement calculations

·        Assist with partner capital projections and analyses

·        Prepares quarterly tax estimates and payments

·        Coordinates tax workpaper preparation with external tax accountants

·        Prepares annual income and capital workpapers for tax returns

·        Ensures compliance with firm policies

·        Assists with month and year end close process

·        Prepares audit schedules for annual review by outside auditors

Qualifications

·        5 years of accounting experience with two preferred in public accounting

·        Tax accounting experience specifically

·        Exceptional Microsoft Excel capabilities

·        Ability to communicate effectively with partners at a law firm

Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000

Work Environment: Hybrid to Cleveland (3 in and 2 out)
